Food Network: Best pizza slice in the state is right here in South Florida
When you are craving pizza, have you ever wondered where to find the best pizza in Florida or even America? The Food Network answered this question by creating a list of the best pizza slices from every state, including one in South Florida.
"What’s really the greatest thing since sliced bread? Pizza, by the slice. Foldable triangles of tomato sauce- and cheese-topped dough was one of the original street foods to be adopted by New Yorkers," The Food Network writes.
As pizza has journeyed across the United States, it has been reimagined by chefs who infuse it with regional ingredients, local flavors, and unique dining customs. In Florida, this culinary evolution has given rise to standout slices that reflect the state’s diverse food culture—here’s where you’ll find the best one.
Where is the best slice of pizza in Florida?
The Food Network named Steve's Pizza, a beloved Miami institution, as the top spot for pizza in Florida. According to their review, it's the "Brooklyn-worthy" slices that have transformed this neighborhood gem into a local legend.
"A sweet and tangy tomato sauce complements a thin-crust base that's crisp on the outside and delightfully springy inside," they wrote. "While pepperoni remains the crowd favorite, the bustling shop boasts 22 of the freshest — and finest — pizza toppings you'll find south of the Hudson."
Where is Steve's pizza located?

Special Pizza No. 1 at Juliana's Pizza is one of their most popular pies and it features mozzarella, Scamorza affumicata, pancetta and scallions. Want to kick it up a notch? Add a cracked egg in the middle!
Steve's Pizza is located in North Miami at 12101 Biscayne Boulevard.
Steve's Pizza opened in 1974 and was founded by lifelong friends, Brooklynites Allen Valinsky and Steven Siegle. The partnership only lasted a year, but Valinsky kept the name since his son was named Steven.
Over the years, it has since into a neighborhood staple known for its New York-style pizzas and late-night hours, and they recently celebrated its 50th anniversary.
How much is a slice at Steve's Pizza?
A slice of a classic cheese or pepperoni pizza from Steve's is $4.50. The slice is 3-4 inches wide at the crust and 6-8 inches long from crust to point, making this a perfect slice to satisfy your pizza cravings.
