OKC's Asian Night Market Festival starts this weekend. Events, what to know

The Asian District of OKC is hosting a two-night Asian Night Market Festival starting Friday, Oct. 3.

The festival includes a variety of cultural foods, an egg roll eating contest, a cultural fashion show, karaoke, performances and more.

Who can attend the Asian Night Market Festival?

The event is open to everyone and admission is free.

Location: Military Park, 1200 NW 25th St., Oklahoma City

Hours: Oct. 3 and 4, 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

What's in the Asian District?

OKC's Asian District is home to various cafés, restaurants, bakeries and stores. Popular destinations include Chinese restaurant Fung's Kitchen, Vietnamese restaurant Pho Cuong, as well as Guatemalan restaurant Café Kacao and Classen Coffee Co.

What is the Asian District Cultural Association?

The Asian District Cultural Association is a non-profit organization that promotes and preserves the diversity in the OKC Asian District by engaging the community through events, outreach and beautification, per their website. Many Vietnamese refugees fled Vietnam after the fall of Saigon in 1975, and many settled in Oklahoma City.

The association holds five main values: cultural preservation, beauty, diversity, tradition and community.
