1 dead after major crash on Mountain View Corridor in Utah

WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (ABC4) — One person is dead after a major crash on Mountain View Corridor in West Valley City.

Northbound Mountain View Corridor has been closed at 5400 South due to a major crash at 4100 South. Additionally, both directions of 4100 South are closed at Mountain View Corridor. The public is asked to use an alternate route.

An SUV was reportedly heading eastbound on 4100 South when it ran a red light and collided with a tow truck heading northbound on Mountain View Corridor. Both drivers were taken to the hospital after the crash.

The driver of the SUV has died from their injuries, police said. The driver of the tow truck is reportedly in good condition.

The identity of the deceased has not been released at this time.
