Harry Potter-themed pop-up bar in Denver shut down by Warner Bros.
DENVER (KDVR) — A new “Harry Potter”-themed pop-up bar in downtown Denver closed quickly following its opening after Warner Bros. asked for it to be taken down.
In early May, the Underground School of Magic opened in the Union Station neighborhood. It was everything lovers of the wizarding franchise could have hoped for: Picture hanging candles, The Daily Prophet newspaper clippings, and more.
The pop-up was in the downstairs of Church and Union on 17th Street. However, on Tuesday, the restaurant confirmed that it will “no longer be moving forward” with the pop-up. In a voicemail obtained by Nexstar’s KDVR, an employee told a diner with an upcoming reservation that the pop-up was “too magical,” and Warner Bros. asked the restaurant to take it down.
Here’s what it looked like:
In the pop-up, there were themed menu and cocktails. That included drinks like Liquid Luck and, of course, Butter Beer. There were also courses named after parts of the series. This included the Hogwarts House Rolls, Luna Lovegood’s Whipped Ricotta and Hagrid’s Meatballs.
The pop-up began May 6 and was supposed to run through June 21.
