We know you're familiar with the Honda Civics and Toyota Corollas of the world, but have you ever heard about the Ford Probes and the Mitsubishi Carismas? Turns out, the automobile world is a lot funnier than you might think. Some of these hilarious car names sound so ridiculous, it's hard to believe they're real. How many out of these 20 have you seen before?

1. Mitsubishi Carisma

If you're someone who loves a good Dad pun, you may be able to appreciate this strange car name from Mitsubishi, but for the majority of people, it's just downright funny. We can only imagine how many hilarious ways you could crack a joke about your car's "carisma." 

2. Mazda Titan Dump

We know it's a dump truck, but did they really have to name it like this? Mazda certainly made a small misstep when naming their truck the Mazda Titan Dump — we're definitely picturing something a bit different from what they intended. 

3. Isuzu Mysterious Utility Wizard

Gandalf, is that you? Isuzu definitely took a creative approach when naming this SUV. Though it's normally shortened to Isuzu MU, its full title is the Mysterious Utility Wizard, one that leaves you with more questions than answers. Unless this ride feels unbelievably magical to drive, the name doesn't make much sense. 

4. Mazda Bongo-Friendee

Introduced way back in 1995, the Mazda Bongo-Friendee definitely made an impact but not necessarily because it was an amazing car. This eight-seater mini-van certainly made itself feel more approachable with its strange name, but we're not too sure where bongo came from. 

5. Isuzu GIGA 20 Light Dump

Again, we know it's a dump truck, but we can't help but laugh at how hilarious the name is. And it's not just any light dump, it's a GIGA one! For all of you jokesters with childish humor, we know you're going to get a kick out of this one. Isuzu definitely knows how to create some memorable car names. 

6. Mitsubishi Minica Lettuce

So if there's a lettuce version, we're assuming Mitsubishi also followed up with a spinach and kale one too, right? Joking aside, we're not really sure how the Mitsubishi Minica Lettuce came to be; after all, vegetables are probably the last thing we're thinking of when looking at a car. Nonetheless, this car which was sold primarily for the Japanese market, is a model that survived several generations on the market. 

7. Nissan Friend-Me

Though this Nissan vehicle has a stunning futuristic look to it, its name could definitely use some work. Called the "Friend-Me," it definitely leaves a lot more to be desired. It doesn't do its beautiful exterior justice! We get the concept, we just think it's a bit too cheesy for something that looks so sophisticated. 

8. Ford Probe

First introduced back in 1988 and lasting at least 10 years in the market, the Ford Probe wasn't an unpopular car to say the least. That's not to say the naming couldn't have been better though! The word "probe" definitely brings to mind some things other than cars — it just sounds so clinical. 

9. Toyota Deliboy

The good news is, you don't have to be a delivery boy selling meat to drive this van! Curiously named "Deliboy," this Toyota delivery van has us scratching our heads. The unique name instantly brings to mind a very specific image, though in reality, it has nothing to do with the car itself. 

10. Daihatsu Naked

It's weird to tell a car to put some clothes on, but with a name like this one, it only feels right. Created by the Japanese car company, Daihatsu, we definitely have a few questions we'd like to ask. For one, how exactly did they come up with this strangely suggestive title for a car? 

11. Honda That's

That's...it, really. While you might think we've left an unfinished title for this point, the Honda That's is really its name. We're not sure if Honda was hoping using a familiar word would catch on with the public, but we've certainly never heard of it before. 

12. Mitsubishi Minica Winky

While Mitsbuishi didn't follow up with a spinach or kale model, they did create this minicar called the Minica Winky. The name is definitely fitting for this adorable and petite car, it's just a bit funny by nature. Can you imagine being asked what you're driving and responding with, "the Winky"?

13. Chevrolet Citation

We're pretty sure getting a citation is the last thing you want when driving a car. It's safe to say Chevrolet took a bit of a gamble with this weird approach, and in our eyes, it failed the landing. If one thing's for sure, the word "citation" doesn't really get us excited about this compact car developed in the 1980s. 

14. Subaru FF-1 Star

A bit unnecessarily wordy and cheesy, the Subaru FF-1 Star doesn't leave as much of an impact as the name suggests. Not only are we unsure of what FF-1 stands for, naming a car Star just feels a bit much. The combination of these words just doesn't quite work for us. 

15. Subaru BRAT

While BRAT is an acronym for Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter, we're a bit surprised to see Subaru was okay with using such a negative word for their car. Often used to described spoiled or rude children, tying the word to a car doesn't exactly improve it. If anything, it leaves a bit of a negative impression. 

16. Honda Joy Machine

This Honda HR-V which was supposedly called the "Joy Machine" in ads, doesn't exactly look like it'd bring us much happiness. The name itself is a bit laughable, and we wouldn't exactly want to tell others that we're "heading over in the Joy Machine." 

17. Chevrolet Celebrity

Just because celebrity is in its name, don't expect to get red carpet treatment wherever you go. Introduced back in 1982, the car was eventually discontinued in 1990. Looks like its big Hollywood name wasn't able to outlast the test of time. 

18. Mazda Scrum

Sold exclusively in Japan, the Mazda Scrum just rubs off the wrong way. Something about the word "scrum" just doesn't sound very appealing, leaving customers with a negative impression right from the get go. Surely there's a better word to name this cute little microvan model!

19. Ferrari LaFerrari

Naming the car model after itself? Something about that Ferrari LaFerrari just feels a bit pretentious. We know you're a high-end sports car that everyone wants and loves, but do you really have to get people saying your name twice back-to-back? 

20. Peugeot Bipper Tepee Outdoor

Now this is one car on this list that we truly can't explain. Created by the French car company, Peugeot, we have no idea how the Bipper Tepee Outdoor came to be. We wouldn't blame you if you thought that this car name was completely fake.
