Downtown restaurant and motel demo & 3 other September business stories in Sheboygan
SHEBOYGAN COUNTY – A circuit court ruling in a lawsuit regarding the Kohler Co. golf course, forthcoming demolition of a downtown restaurant and motel, and a new café in the Sheboygan County YMCA were among the top business stories in September.
In other business news, 104 employees will be laid off at Sheridan Random Lake; Bounce Trampoline Park remains temporarily closed as it works to received state approval of its building plans; and the Sheboygan Press featured Casita Cafe, a Mexican café offering Latin-inspired drinks and dishes.

Lawsuit regarding CUP extension for Kohler Co. golf course dismissed
The case has since been closed, according to the court docket.
Fountain Park motel and restaurant will be torn down
Demolition will start around Oct. 6 on the former Fountain Park Restaurant and Inn of Sheboygan to make way for a Marriott hotel.
The 104-room hotel will have a first-floor distillery and rooftop restaurant, according to a Tax Incremental District 21 agreement with Waterside Hospitality, LLC.
Sheboygan County YMCA gets a new café
The café offers baked goods, a full espresso bar, a simple breakfast menu and lunch staples, like sandwiches, salads and soups. It has a larger offering of smoothies, smoothie bowls and protein shakes, too.
Entertainment business could offer virtual reality gaming
The Plan Commission approved a conditional use permit for PowerPlay Arena to operate a family entertainment center near the north side Piggly Wiggly.
It would offer virtual reality gaming stations and a racing simulator. Other indoor activities like indoor laser tag could be offered in the future.
