NCIS Star Michael Weatherly Turned His Garage Into a James Bond–Worthy Hideaway
Leave it to Michael Weatherly—known for his turn and subsequent reprisal as Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo on hit drama NCIS and the recently released NCIS: Tony & Ziva, which follows the aftermath of the titular characters’ departure from the original series—to have a home inspired by another special agent of the silver screen.
His bucolic Connecticut home, which he shares with his wife, Bojana Janković, and their children, recently got a James Bond-inspired refresh thanks to the work of designer Danielle Perdue. Danielle and her team helped Michael and Bojana transform an old garage into a “wellness studio,” complete with a yoga room, a sauna, and a music lounge inspired by the Bond film No Time to Die. Below, we’re taking you on an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the Tony & Ziva star’s favorite place to spend his downtime.
A Tucked-Away Escape

“We kept the original exterior to preserve it’s unique character but made improvements to modernize it,” says designer Danielle Perdue.
Before this stunning studio was a place for Michael and his family to kick their feet up, it was just a garage they used mostly for storage. Danielle’s plan, facilitated in part by the teams at Browning Residential Design and Sergerson Builders, was simple: keep the existing structure’s architectural charm but totally gut the inside to craft a space worth some serious hang time. Danielle’s team started by painting the existing brick white and replacing the garage doors with floor-to-ceiling windows. The front door also got a fresh coat of high-gloss gray paint, and modern sconces were mounted to flank the ends of the home.

A Music Room Fit for a Spy
The main draw of the studio—the music room—is a collage full of things Michael loves. “He has a very unique and eclectic style,” says Danielle. On the wall, a smattering of artwork pays homage to both music and film, with references to the Beatles; French director Jean-Luc Godard, whose 1966 film Masculin Féminin references James Bond; and Bob Marley. From a practical standpoint, Danielle and her team wanted this room to feel inviting—a place everyone wanted to be—with just a twist of silver-screen elegance.

Vaulted ceilings enhace the music room’s island vibe and give the quietly layered room a dramatic focal point.
“Our inspiration came from James Bond’s Jamaican home in No Time to Die,” Danielle explains. “This room was to feel laid back, yet refined—a casual, lived-in look.” A warm, neutral color palette—anchored by the vaulted oak wood ceilings—is set against sumptuous materials and cozy, oversized silhouettes. The walls were limewashed in a quiet, creamy gray to further the lived-in island look, while nesting kidney-shaped coffee tables foster a hang-around vibe. Airy sheer curtains let in tons of the Connecticut countryside’s natural light. “There’s something magical about the space,” says Danielle. “It’s immediately calming. Once you sit down, you don’t want to leave.”

A Bar Ready to Serve Drinks Shaken, Not Stirred

Fluted wood on the cabinet fronts matches the guitar case's inset panels.
The wet bar—the room’s “showstopper,” according to Danielle—sits opposite the main hangout area. Fluted oak cabinetry was stained a rich, warm color to give the bar an island feel à la No Time to Die. Behind, a veiny slab of Eclipse Velvet granite, straight from Brazil, adds masculine touches of black, which Danielle referenced with the wet bar's matte hardware.
The Hardworking Spaces

The outfitted workout space makes transitioning between yoga and barre classes easy.
When Michael and Bojana aren’t using the space to relax, they’re hard at work(ing out). The back half of the converted garage features a custom home gym, perfect for yoga or barre—which was important “for the mother-and-daughter dance enthusiasts,” says Danielle.
Just off the gym is the spa. “I wanted this space to have personality,” says Danielle. “It’s not in the main house [and] not meant to feel like a [primary] bath.” A Victoria & Albert soaking tub offers the perfect place to relax after a hard workout. The sauna, which was installed by the previous owners, got a new look when Danielle and the team built it into the wall to give it a custom feel.
