Recall issued for croquettes over misbranding, undeclared allergen
(NewsNation) — Brazilian Taste is recalling over 4,100 chicken and beef croquette products due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.
The FSIS says the products contain sesame, which is not declared on their labels.
The products included in the recall include:
-Saint Coxinha XL Chicken Croquettes
-Saint Coxinha Chicken Croquettes
-Ground Beef Croquette Risole De Carne
“The problem was discovered when the Food and Drug Administration notified FSIS that bread crumb ingredients shared between FDA-regulated and FSIS-regulated products produced at the facility contained sesame that may not have been declared on the labels of the FSIS-regulated products,” the FSIS said.
The three items were shipped to retail locations in Connecticut, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and nationwide through online sales. People are advised to throw the products away or return them to the place of purchase.
There have been no confirmed reports of people having a negative reaction from consuming the products.
