Ree Drummond shares photos of Sofia's first family Christmas on the ranch

I hope you had a Merry Christmas, everyone! And just like that, it's December 26 and the crazy busy-ness is past us! We had everyone on the ranch this Christmas (the married kids will swap off to their in-laws' house next year) so I savored the moments...especially with Sofia. She was born a few days before Christmas last year, so this is the first year she'll really have any Christmas memories, and it was her first Christmas on the ranch! Here are some of the sweetest Sofia moments from Christmas morning, along with a couple of presents she scored!

Sofia had no idea when she woke up yesterday morning how much fun she had in store!

Merry Christmas, Sofia!!

We knew we had one chance to get a good pic of Sofia in front of the tree before the whole house was covered in wads of wrapping paper. A couple of years from now, she won't have the patience to sit and pose, but this year she was unaware of the pile of fun behind her. Side note: Please note my low effort wrapping. If I can get a piece of wrapping paper taped closed around each gift, I consider that a win!

Ree Ree Gets a Pic, Too!

I'll write a separate post about our Christmas sweats, but I wanted to point out that I did not intentionally order a size that would accentuate Sofia's belly like this. But I think it's a cute added feature.

Pre-Present Bottle

One more thing we had to get done before we opened presents: Her morning bottle! She liked her make-shift lounge chair on the floor.

Let the Gifts Begin!

Mauricio had to coax her to be interested in ripping into paper, let alone looking at the shirts that were contained within. I got her this white button-down polo, which is a bit of a memory. Nan, my mother-in-law, got Alex the same shirt when she was a baby...she used to roll up her sleeves and pair it with baby leggings. Nan had great style and I know she'd get a kick of our this gift.

Her First Tracksuit

Santa couldn't resist this Adidas tracksuit. I don't know that Sofia appreciated it as much as Santa did, but hopefully it will kick off her athletic career!

Baby Carhartt for the Win

It will get colder on the ranch this weekend, which means Sofia will need a Carhartt jacket to help her grandpa feed cattle. Again, she didn't necessarily get as excited as Santa Claus got when he had the elves make this jacket. But she'll get it once it's cold outside!

My Favorite Photo

Sofia loved this toy, and I loved watching Ladd and her have a quite moment navigating it while the rest of the kids handed out one another's gifts. Having Sofia here has made Christmas extra magical for us. So many memories of our babies, and it doesn't seem that long ago!

Happy Ree Ree

It all comes together. You have babies, they grow, they leave...and you have a moment where you wonder what life is going to look like, what life is going to mean. Then the most wonderful things to happen and it all makes perfect sense. Such a special Christmas! I hope you all had a great time with your loved ones!
