Diane Keaton's kids get tattoos in honor of their late mom on what would have been her 80th birthday
Diane Keaton was honored in a special way on her heavenly birthday.
The late Oscar winner's two children, Dexter and Duke Keaton, celebrated what would be her 80th birthday on Jan. 5 by sharing photos of the tattoos they got in her honor.
Shared on Instagram, Dexter first posted a photo of her and her mom hugging with their backs towards the camera and looking out to the ocean.
The second photo is of a tattoo on Dexter's arm that reads, “La Di Day.” Her brother, whom she tagged, has a tattoo in the same area that reads, “Weird old world.”

"I miss you, mom," Dexter Keaton wrote, adding a broken heart and dove emojis. She also thanked Los Angeles-based tattoo artist Winter Stone "for my forever reminder of my wonderful mom."
She added black and white heart emoji, a nod to her mother’s signature color palette.
Additionally, on her Instagram story, she showed off her black nails with white polka dot nails and a bracelet that had a heart charm with the initials “DK.”

Sarah Paulson, a close friend of Diane Keaton and former co-star, also got a tattoo from the same artist and shared her tribute on her Instagram.
"You would have been 80 today. Too many deep feelings to put here… I was the luckiest person in the world to have traveled, laughed so hard we cried, watched a million and one movies, really cried, and eaten French fries with you,” the actor wrote alongside a beachside photo of the two. “You. You. Wondrous, singular, YOU. I will miss you till the end of time. Thank you @winterstone for my forever reminder, of one of my forever people.”
Paulson’s tattoo is also on her arm and simply reads “DK” in fine print.
Last month, Paulson honored Diane Keaton during The Hollywood Reporter’s annual Women in Entertainment gala, where she reflected on their friendship. She also read hilarious and heartfelt texts, voicemails and emails that Diane Keaton had sent her.
At the time, her family encouraged people to donate to local animal shelters or food banks in her name, causes that were dear to her heart.
Diane Keaton, who never married, previously spoke about wanting to become a mother into her 50s. In a 2008 interview with Ladies’ Home Journal, she said adopting her children and motherhood was “an urge I couldn’t resist.”
