While January has seen unseasonably warm weather, there are many places to ice skate in the Milwaukee area when the weather gets colder.
When the temperature stays at or below freezing for a stretch, it'll be a good winter for those who love to visit outdoor ice skating rinks. When it does, outdoor rinks in Milwaukee, Washington and Waukesha counties are ready to welcome skaters.
Here's a list of ice skating rinks or pop-up ice rinks in the area.
Rink hours and whether they are open depend on the temperature. Many post this information on Facebook or on the municipality's website. Each rink has its own rules and safety protocols which should be followed.
