March 2024: Stone thanks McCary and their daughter after winning her second Oscar, saying, “I really just want to thank…My husband, Dave. I love you so much. And most importantly, my daughter, who's gonna be three in three days and has turned our lives technicolor. I love you bigger than the whole sky, my girl.” He is in the audience that night. She also thanked him at the Golden Globes that year.

March 2021: The family welcomes their daughter Louise Jean.
September 2020: A source confirms that Stone and McCary married “in secret,” and to this day basically nothing is known about their wedding, except that she re-wore her wedding after-party dress to the 2022 Met Gala, and it's from Louis Vuitton.
December 2019: Three years after meeting, the couple announce they are engaged, sharing a photo (seemingly taken in the SNL offices) of Stone showing off her pearl ring.
August 2019: The pair are spotted on a date night in Santa Monica. This is the same summer they buy a home together in Malibu.
April 2019: Stone returns to host SNL again. McCary, who has left the show by this time (but occasionally returns to direct segments) helms the iconic “The Actress.”
February 2019: McCary accompanies his girlfriend to the Oscars.
January 2019: Stone and McCary go public, or at least, their version of public, attending a Clippers game and the SAG Awards together.

July 2017: Stone attends the premiere of McCary's film Brigsby Bear. She doesn't walk the carpet, but a fan captures footage of her leaving the event with McCary.
December 2016: Emma Stone meets McCary when she hosts Saturday Night Live for the third time. He's a writer and director on the show, and directs Stone in the (very good) pre-taped commercial parody “Wells for Boys.” Don't just give him a Barbie.
