One reader noted it “somehow manages the impossible: existing simultaneously as a Bears bar and a Packers bar.” Another said, “You feel like family” at Jerry’s. No. 4: The Sports Bra

The world’s first women’s sports bar was founded right here in Portland and plans to expand into other cities. “It’s the only sports bar in town where literally everyone is welcome — shes and hes and theys and kids, too! Which makes sense, because women’s sports are for everyone, too,” one reader said. Another said, “Hanging out at The Sports Bra is like a big rowdy sports-obsessed-family party.” Another readers summed it up with, “Inclusive space, great vibes, top-notch food.”

Home of one of our favorite dive bar burgers, this neighborhood bar pours more than 15 taps of beer and hosts a trivia night on Wednesdays. One of our readers called it “Portland’s very own Cheers bar” while recommending the tots and fry sauce. Another reader said you need to try the smoked wings.

No. 2: The Garden Tavern

This self-proclaimed “retro sports bar” harkens to the days when the Moda Center was the Rose Garden. You’ll find plenty of Blazers jerseys along with TVs inside and outside. One reader said, “It’s the kind of place you stop by for ‘just one’ and end up staying longer because the vibe is comfortable, the drinks are solid, and you feel genuinely welcome.”

This North Portland spot is “a casual and awesome bar with tons of TVs, amazing bartenders and great food,” according to one of our readers. Another reader said they love Kooks for the “fun vibes” and “the best mezzanine in Portland with pool.” Others shouted out the darts, pinball, smash burgers and great drinks.
