Behind-the-scenes at Ethel M Chocolates Valentine’s Day celebrations
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, Ethel M Chocolates in Henderson showcases its Lights of Love display — and the sweet treats that go with any Valentine’s Day celebration.
Lisa Vannerson, Ethel M Choclate’s marketing director, walked us through the Lights of Love display. The garden is filled with more than half a million red, pink, and purple lights, creating a romantic and one-of-a-kind Valentine’s experience.
Plus, your Valentine’s celebration at Ethel M helps a great cause with a portion of the admission proceeds benefiting local Las Vegas charities, including Three Square Food Bank and HELP of Southern Nevada.
Tammy Jo French, a chocolatier at Ethel M Chocolates, walked through the hands-on process of creating some of their most popular chocolate-dipped treats, assembling a custom chocolate box. Then, dove into the science behind dipping, explaining how Ethel M creates chocolate-dipped strawberries, oranges, pretzels, and marshmallows.
Tammy Jo dipped marshmallows into milk chocolate, while Good Day Las Vegas’ JC Fernandez opted for dark chocolate. Then, took one step further by dipping his dark-chocolate-covered marshmallows into milk chocolate for a double-decker creation. Now, whether Ethel M will officially add JC’s concoction to the menu remains to be seen.
