King Charles and Camilla wrap up their US state visit

The royals bid farewell to the Trumps, and the king is currently traveling to Bermuda

King Charles III and Queen Camilla just wrapped up their official state visit to the United States, and you bet it’s been filled with photo opportunities with the Trumps.

1)

President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump welcomed the British royals on Monday as they arrived in Washington, D.C., some months after the Trumps visited the U.K. for their second state visit.

2)

On day one, the four enjoyed a walking tour of the White House and its gardens. Melania wore a butter-yellow skirt suit, while Camilla went for a flowy white dress embroidered with blue flowers, and the men coordinated in blue suits.

3)

On day two, the four held a meeting in the Oval Office and watched a a “Pass in Review”—a formal military ceremony where troops march before commanders to showcase their discipline and unit precision—from the balcony of the South Portico. During the State Arrival Ceremony on the South Lawn, the Trumps, on their balcony, waved to passersby, taking a cue from the royals.

4)

The traditional military arrival ceremony was a way to welcome Charles and Camilla—it is the highest diplomatic honor extended by the U.S. to a visiting head of state, and dates back to the 18th century.

Melania and Camilla coordinated in pale skirts suits and hats for the occasion.

6)

On day three of the visit, the Trumps joined the royals for several public events, and closed with an official state dinner at the White House. Melania and Camilla matched in pink-toned gowns.

7)

And most recently, on day four, the king and queen consort traveled to New York City, where they not only attended a literacy event at the New York Public Library with Sarah Jessica Parker, but also met with Major Zohran Mamdani during a ceremony at the National September 11 Memorial.

8)

Then, they traveled back down south to offer their farewell to the Trumps and make their way to Virginia for the rest of their visit, where they visited Shenandoah National Park, and the town of Front Royal for a block party and potluck, where they met Governor Abigail Spanberger.

9)

Their trip comes on the year of the U.S.’s 250th anniversary of independence (from British rule). Now, Charles is currently on his way to visit Bermuda.
