Get to know all of Queen Elizabeth’s grandchildren
Prince William is the heir apparent to the throne, but he's not the late Queen Elizabeth's only grandchild. In fact, Queen Elizabeth had eight grandkids (not to mention thirteen great-grandchildren, including newer additions Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor).
On the Saturday before her funeral, all eight grandchildren stood vigil beside her coffin in Westminster Hall. Prince William stood at the head, flanked by his cousins Zara Tindall and Peter Phillips; Prince Harry stood at the foot, flanked by Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, with the Queen's youngest grandchildren, Lady Louise, and James, Earl of Wessex at the middle of the coffin. Per a Palace source at the time, "The grandchildren, at the King's invitation, are very keen to pay their respects—just as their parents are doing the evening before." All eight grandkids were also seen at the Queen's state funeral.
Below, are all of the Queen's granddaughters and grandsons from oldest to youngest, plus, how they're related to the late British monarch.
Peter Phillips
Age: 45
Parents: Princess Anne and Captain Mark Philips
The Queen's oldest grandchild, Peter Phillips, tends to stay out of the spotlight, but just a few years ago, his daughter Savannah stole the show at last year's Trooping the Colour, laughing and clapping with Princess Charlotte and playfully telling Prince George to stop singing during the national anthem. In 2020, Peter and his wife Autumn confirmed that they are separated; they have two children together: Savannah and her little sister Isla. Peter is now dating Lindsay Wallace.

Zara Tindall
Age: 42
Parents: Princess Anne and Captain Mark Philips
Princess Anne's only daughter Zara is a skilled equestrian (a love of horses seems to run in the family). She and her husband Mike Tindall have three children: Mia, Lena Elizabeth, who is named after the Queen, and their son Lucas Philip, whom Zara gave birth to at home in March 2021.

Prince William
Age: 43
Parents: Prince Charles and Princess Diana
Heir to the throne, Prince William is a full-time working royal, continuing to attend engagements and taking virtual meetings even amid the pandemic. William and his wife Catherine have three children together: Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.

Prince Harry
Age: 41
Parents: Prince Charles and Princess Diana
In early 2020, Prince Harry and his wife Meghan made the decision to step back from their working royal roles. They moved to California with their son Prince Archie, where they launched a new non-profit and production company called Archewell. He welcomed a daughter, Princess Lilibet “Lili” Diana, in June 2021.

Princess Beatrice
Age: 37
Parents: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson
Princess Beatrice is another a non-working royal, who has pursued a career in the business world. During summer 2020, she wed her partner Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in a private wedding ceremony in Windsor. And in September 2021, she became a mom, welcomingher first child with husband Edoardo: Sienna Elizabeth. Sienna's middle name is a tribute to Queen Elizabeth. In January 2025, they welcomed their second child, Athena Elizabeth Rose, whose middle name also pays tribute to the late Queen.

Princess Eugenie
Age: 36
Parents: Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson.
Princess Eugenie is another royal grandchild who works outside the palace, and over the past few years, she’s etablished a career in the art world. In 2021, Eugenie welcomed her first child with her husband Jack Brooksbank, a baby boy named August, and this year, they welcomed another baby, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank. She is currently expecting her third child.

Lady Louise Windsor
Age: 20
Parents: Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh
Initially, the Queen's youngest granddaughter had no idea her granny was the monarch. Her mother Sophie shared that it was a bit of a "shock to the system" for the young royal when she found out. “I don’t think she had grasped that perhaps there was only one Queen.” She's currently a student at St. Andrews University.

James, Earl of Wessex
Age: 18
Parents: Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh
Aside from a few family appearances, the public hasn’t seen too much of the Queen’s youngest grandchild, and that’s by design. “For their sakes, to grow up as normally as possible we felt was quite important,” James's mother Sophie has said. He was previously known as James, Viscount Severn, beforehis parents became the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh earlier this year.
