Queen Camilla wears Queen Elizabeth's diamond star brooch
Queen Camilla revived one of the late Queen Elizabeth II's sentimental brooches for her appearance at Thursday's 2026 Chelsea Pensioners Founder's Day at Royal Hospital Chelsea in London.
The U.K.'s queen consort evoked summery style with her Anna Valentine light pink coatdress, designed in Queen Camilla's signature silhouette. The coatdress featured long sleeves with a midi hemline just below the knees with a slightly cinched waist for added definition.
The coatdress featured some textural playfulness, with frayed elements running down the seams and featured at the sharp collar, pleating at the skirt and a sharp cutout at the cuffs of the long sleeves too. Queen Camilla added a Philip Treacy hat in soft sandy color.
The tone of Queen Camilla's hat was augmented by her suede pumps, and completed the neutral and soft tonal motif of the queen consort's summertime style. As for accessories, however, Queen Camilla added her signature Van Cleef & Arpels bracelets and a pair of diamond earrings with pearls.
The highlight of Queen Camilla's ensemble came with the inclusion of her diamond star brooch, a piece from the late Queen Elizabeth II's collection. The Jardine Star Brooch became part of Queen Elizabeth II's collection in 1981, when the piece was gifted to her by Lady Jardine, per The Court Jeweller.
Following Queen Elizabeth II's death in September 2022, Queen Camilla inherited several pieces from the late monarch's collection. This particular diamond star brooch, while not a signature piece of Queen Camilla's brooch rotation, has been worn by the royal in the past.
Queen Camilla wore the brooch at Royal Ascot in June 2024 and again for a Buckingham Palace garden party in May 2025.
Founder's Day, which Queen Camilla attended on Thursday, is among the most significant events on the Royal Hospital Chelsea calendar. The event is also known as Oak Apple Day in honor of the 1651 Battle of Worcester. The celebration acknowledged centuries of history along with contemporary service of roughly 300 resident British Army veterans, famously known as the Chelsea Pensioners.
