Kristen Stewart's New Buzz Cut Is Her Most Dramatic Hair Transformation to Date

She's single-handedly bringing back the undercut.

The Gist

  • Kristen Stewart debuted a dramatic (partial) buzz cut at the 2025 Governors Awards on Sunday, November 16.
  • The new 'do, otherwise known as an undercut, is long on top and totally buzzed on the bottom.
  • Stewart paired her hair transformation with a strapless velvet gown from Rodarte.

Kristen Stewart is not one to shy away from a dramatic red carpet moment, and her latest hair transformation is case in point. On Sunday, November 17, the Love Lies Bleeding actress stepped out at the 2025 Governors Awards with arguably her most shocking 'do to date: a (partial) buzz cut.

Otherwise known as an undercut, Stewart's new hairstyle is totally buzzed on the bottom half, with the top half kept long. She wore it half up to show off the fresh cut and also kept the baby bangs that she debuted in London just last month.

As for her outfit? The Spencer star opted for a black strapless gown from Rodarte, complete with white lace appliqué and a peek-a-boo line of lace along the top of the velvet bodice. Matching white heels completed the look.

Prior to Sunday night's buzz cut debut, it was only one month ago that Stewart showed off brand-new brunette locks in Paris. The actress was spotted on the set of her new film Full Phil, in which she and Woody Harrelson star as a father-daughter duo alongside fellow cast members Emma Mackey and Charlotte Le Bon.

In an exclusive announcement last month, Variety noted that the movie "might have a 'White Lotus' vibe." More importantly, the October sighting was Stewart's first time being a brunette since late 2024. The Happiest Season actress been platinum blonde since January, with the exception of two brief hot pink stints in May and July.
