The Akron Zoo will host a Renaissance Faire May 23 to 25.
The Akron Zoo Renaissance Faire: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 23-25 at 505 Euclid Ave., Akron. The family-friendly event will feature games like ax throwing and archery, a vendor area, blacksmithing and sword-fighting demonstrations from the Ohio Shakespeare Festival. There will be many live performances, including the Great Lakes Medieval Faire and live Dungeons and Dragons. Guests are encouraged to dress in costume and there will be a costume contest. Real weapons are not permitted, including swords, maces and axes. Fake, plastic weapons are permitted. Tickets are available at akronzoo.org/renaissance-faire. Akron Zoo members are free. Non-member adults are $25 and non-member children are $15.
