Top 7+ Christmas Tree Trends That Will Be Everywhere in 2025
Multiple trees, realistic branches, and vintage-style lights are putting an extra-festive spin on holiday decorating.

Purchasing a new Christmas tree is exciting, but knowing what look, size, and style to choose can be overwhelming. To help you navigate the vast market of artificial trees, holiday experts are sharing the top Christmas tree trends for 2025. While they say a Christmas tree should reflect your space, design preferences, and personal values, there are a few trends they're seeing surge in popularity this year. The biggest of them all? Multiple Christmas trees! People are going all-out, putting an extra festive spin on their decked halls with trees big and small all around their homes.
Whatever the size and style of your home is, here are the top Christmas tree trends our holiday experts are seeing everywhere this season.
1. Natural Green Trees
Holiday experts say natural-looking green trees are still the top pick for most people and a look that's enjoying a surge in popularity. "This season leans heavily into nature-inspired decorating, with designers pairing classic green trees with neutral, earthy, and wood-toned accents to create a warm, grounded atmosphere," says Jen Derry, chief merchandising officer at Balsam Hill.
Melissa Mills, senior vice president and general merchandise manager at Michaels, shares that this year, shoppers are loving trees that have a variety of materials and blended colors, making them look like a tree that was cut down at an actual tree farm. "From slim silhouettes to luscious pines, the natural tree look is surging in popularity, and realistic branches and shapes are having a moment in bringing the magic of the holiday to life", Mills says.
2. Multiple Christmas Trees
"The biggest trend we’re seeing this holiday season is the concept of having multiple trees throughout the home," Mills says. She shares that it's a joyful way for people to showcase their creativity and personalize different spaces within the home. "This allows people to try different trends without committing to just one look," Mills explains.
Derry echoes this, adding, "From clusters of slim trees in an entryway to themed trees placed in different rooms, people are opting for more than one centerpiece to highlight their decorating style in various ways."

3. Lush and Luxurious Christmas Trees
Lush and luxurious Christmas trees are taking centerstage this holiday season. "The perfect centerpiece for your holiday decor, a full, bold, and lush tree evokes classic Christmas vibes," Mills says. If you want to usher in extra holiday spirit this year, then this show-stopping look is for you. For a truly magical touch, opt for a luxuriously snow-covered Christmas tree. "Flocked trees continue to be a major trend as well—decorators love their soft, snow-dusted finish that instantly brings in that cozy, winter-wonderland vibe," Derry shares. While lush and full trees look stunning, Derry says there's a practical element to them as well. "Full trees also offer plenty of room for ornaments, lights, and layered decor, making them ideal for anyone who loves a richly decorated holiday look," she points out.
4. Slim and Pencil-Style Space-Saving Trees
A huge, lush Christmas tree may sound beautiful, but not everybody has the footprint for one, which is why holiday pros say space-saving trees are trending this year. "Slim and pencil-style trees continue to rise in popularity, especially for apartments, smaller homes, or any spot where a wide tree would feel crowded," Derry says. Smaller-scale trees are also an excellent option if you are decorating with multiple trees throughout the home. "From slim pencil trees perfect for tight spaces to small-scale trees ideal for bedrooms and offices, the trend is all about compact options and the joy of having more than one tree to spread holiday cheer throughout the home," Mills shares.

5. Colorful Kitchmas-Inspired Trees
If you love a bright pop of color on your tree, you'll love this viral Christmas tree trend. "Inspired by the viral TikTok Kitschy Christmas or ‘Kitschmas’ trend, colorful trees are all the rage this season," Mills says. Instead of the traditional green, this fun trend embraces pink, blue, champagne, white, and everything in between. "Pair a pink tree with the Bowcore trend, a silver tree with iridescent ornaments, and a black tree to capture the Gothmas vibe," Mills suggests.
"Bold, playful, and nostalgic styles are back in a big way, with whimsical touches and maximalist accents adding personality to holiday setups," Derry says.
6. Vintage-Style Christmas Tree Lights
Christmas lights can completely change the look and atmosphere of a tree, and here's what's trending this season; "White lights remain a perennial favorite, but this year there’s a noticeable shift toward a vintage-inspired look," Derry says. The holiday expert shares that this Christmas, tree lights are getting a retro-style makeover as people embrace classic bulb styles like C7s (tapered, globe-shaped bulbs) and C9s (bulbs that often have a diamond-faceted design) in nostalgic multi-colored palettes.

7. Sustainable Trees and Decor
Christmas 2025 is all about nature and sustainability, Derry says. "Eco-friendly materials and nature-inspired designs are dominating, from realistic artificial trees to ornaments made of wood, linen, and other natural textures," she shares.
