Bronze Door restaurant in Grosse Pointe Farms to close Dec. 31
After five years in Grosse Pointe Farms, the Bronze Door restaurant is closing its doors.
On Wednesday, a closing message was posted to the Bronze Door's Instagramand Facebook pages stating that Dec. 31 would be its last day of service.
“Thank you for your patronage and loyalty to the Bronze Door. Our last day of service is December 31, 2025,” the post read. "A new, exciting concept will be launched in early spring of 2026, under new ownership. We look forward to seeing you soon!”
Mort Meisner, president of Mort Meisner Associates, which represents the restaurant group, confirmed closure and that a new concept is slated for the location.
The Bronze Door is owned by the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group and opened in late summer 2022 at 123 Kercheval Ave. In September 2020, the Joe Vicari Restaurant Group acquired The Hill Seafood and Chop House and transformed it into the Bronze Door. At that same time, the group acquired two other restaurants, Buc'eez Pub, which became Barleycorn’s Public House and has since closed, and the Triple Nickel in Birmingham, now called the Birmingham Pub.

The Bronze Door located at 123 Kercheval Ave. in Grosse Pointe Farms.
According to its website, it was “conceived as an homage to the past.” This space was home to a restaurant of the same name from the 1960s to the 1980s before it became The Hill Seafood and Chophouse.
Its menu offered classic American fare.
The Joe Vicari Restaurant Group ranked as the 22nd largest restaurant group in the United States by industry magazine Nation's Restaurant News in 2023, with more than 20 restaurants. In metro Detroit, they are known for multiple Andiamo Italian restaurants, Joe Muer Seafood restaurants, Andiamo Pasta and chops and others.
In October, the restaurant group announced that an Andiamo Italian Chophouse is set to open as the signature restaurant inside the forthcoming JW Marriott Detroit Water Square −25-story glass building hotel project downtown on the former Joe Louis Arena site.
Andiamo Italian Chophouse is based on the group’s restaurants in Clinton Township and Fenton, called Andiamo Pasta & Chops, and its Andiamo Steakhouse in Las Vegas.
Expected to close is the Andiamo in Detroit’s Renaissance Center. The RenCen closure follows news of General Motors' departure for downtown’s new Hudson’s Detroit on Woodward. The group also operates Joe Muer Seafood in the RenCen and Bloomfield Hills.
Meisner, reached Wednesday afternoon, told the Free Press that the restaurant group has narrowed down two locations for the Joe Muer Seafood RenCen location, both in the downtown area.
"We are bullish on Detroit," Meisner said.
