MILILANI (KON2) — This afternoon, Mililani rang in the New Year – pineapple style.
The Mililani Town Center hosted the annual Noon Year’s Eve Pineapple Drop. The event featured a brand-new, glittering pineapple, live entertainment, center-wide activities and the Pineapple Angel Awards.
The longstanding tradition puts a unique island spin on the annual New York City Times Square ball drop.
Mililani local rising indie and reggae artist, Likkle Jordee, headlined the event.
So why the pineapple, you might ask? Mililani’s history is deeply tied to Hawaiʻi’s pineapple boom, which is why it has become the symbol for the town’s beloved event.
