Sports retailers host vendor sale, run at Kalamazoo brewery

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — On Jan. 20, visitors to Bell’s Eccentric Cafe and its backroom event space can attend a New Year Kick Off vendor sale from Gazelle Sports and other Kalamazoo-area sports retailers.

“Some tables may have some (free) swag,” Mike Limerick, community and engagement lead at Gazelle Sports in Kalamazoo, said. “That’s really up to the vendors and the partners that are coming out.”

Beginning at 4 p.m., shoppers at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe can explore vendor tables from a variety of Kalamazoo area fitness and community organizations, including Run Kalamazoo, Climb Kalamazoo, Team Red, White & Blue and more.

“When they visit a table, they receive a sticker,” Limerick said. “Once that is complete, it will get dropped off and they get put in for a drawing.”

Prizes for drawings will be awarded around 5:30 p.m. when a run and walk event takes place outside the brewery.

While the event is intended for adults 21 and up, younger athletes — accompanied by a guardian — are encouraged to attend the run and walk event.
