Ice cream lovers rejoice: Josh & John’s drive-thru expected to open this spring

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A story that will surely melt the hearts of ice cream lovers across Southern Colorado is from local favorite Josh & John’s, which is expected to open it’s first ever drive-thru in Colorado Springs.

Fans got “the scoop” on Josh & John’s Facebook page, which announced the new way to (soon) get their ice cream.

“We are officially opening the first-ever Josh & John’s Drive-Thru!” the post read. “Featuring a new lineup of shakes, plus all your other favorite treats- without ever leaving your car!”

While fans were told to “stay tuned for more details,” according to the post on Wednesday, March 4, the drive-thru is expected to open this spring.

It will be located at 870 Garden of the Gods Road, just west of I-25.

Josh & John’s was founded by “high school buddies” Josh Paris and John Krakauer, who opened their first store in June 1986 on Kiowa Street in downtown. “…the inaugural flavor, Cookies & Cream, became an instant hit—lines stretched out the door from day one!” according to the website.

From their first shop to now, several retail locations, “a thriving wholesale business,” and vintage VW Scoop Buses—just to name a few, Josh & John’s continues to evolve, ensuring ice cream lovers can get their favorites in just about any way… and soon from the car, too!
