Spring hasn’t started just yet, but if you head on over to your neighborhood Trader Joe’s, you can expect to see a bevy of new meals and snacks on store shelves just in time for the incoming season. And while TJ’s is known to stock many seasonal finds, this spring shopping list, which was the topic of the latest episode of the Inside Trader Joe’s podcast, consists of new products that have the potential to be promoted to “everyday” status, meaning they’ll be stocked in stores regardless of the season. The only catch? In order for these products to remain in stores indefinitely, customers need to buy them and show ‘em some love.

“None of the products we're going to recommend in this episode will abandon you, ever. For a while at least,” Tara Miller, vice president of marketing, told her podcast cohost Matt Sloan, customer relations communications director. “These products are new, but they're not seasonal or limited in nature. Our intention is, if customers like them, they'll stick around.”

This new everyday find features salted caramel ice cream surrounded by sweet rice dough, and it also happens to be gluten-free. “The flavor's great,” Sloan declared. “[It’s] something approaching that classic dulce de leche.”

As Miller put it: “Rather than just drinking empty sugar calories, you're drinking something that not only is not quite so bad for you, but might actually have some potential benefits.” You can also find a strawberry vanilla flavor on shelves this spring.

As such, it’s already sold out (and been restocked) at various Trader Joe’s locations nationwide. This everyday item is similar to a dish you might find on a high-end restaurant menu, and it features wild-caught Alaskan Black Cod (also known as Sablefish) that’s been marinated in a delicious combination of miso, rice wine, and sugar. “It's not light, but in the best way,” Sloan noted. “It's very satisfying.” Cook this tasty fish in the oven or air fryer, and pair it with a hearty green salad and rice on the side. The Country Style Ground Pork Sausage is a new product in the meat case, and is ideal for breakfast because of the way it’s packaged—in a noodle-like shape without a casing. However, you can also use this protein in casseroles, burgers, quiches, pasta dishes, and more. “I think I'm gonna treat myself and make a biscuits and gravy situation,” Miller explained, noting that this sausage would also shine in a meatloaf.

Stuffed Poblano Peppers

Need a tasty, healthy dinner that’s ready in just a few minutes? Try Trader Joe’s new Stuffed Poblano Peppers. According to Miller, these nutritious veggies are packed with chicken, brown rice, Monterey Jack cheese, and corn, all topped with a creamy cilantro sauce. If you like stuffed bell peppers, Sloan predicts you will love this dish. “This is a nice variation on that classic turkey rice stuffed bell pepper,” he explained. “This is just more interesting, tastier, and way more delicious in my opinion."
