Trader Joe's Daytona Beach to open soon. Check out these popular items

From fresh flowers and frozen Indian food to its wacky shopping guide ("The Fearless Flyer"), Trader Joe's has a distinct character and selection of items that have contributed to its widespread popularity.

It appears that soon, Trader Joe's Daytona Beach will open its doors and Volusia County residents will have their own store to visit. The opening date hasn't been announced yet, but a "coming soon" sign is up at 1511 Cornerstone Blvd. in Daytona Beach at the Tomoka Town Center retail complex.

Items on the shelves have their own following, too. Here's a look at some of the most popular items from Trader Joe's.

Trader Joe's Customer Choice Award winners

Trader Joe's surveys customers annually to determine their favorite products, according to the shop's website. Trader Joe's posted the results of the 16th Annual Customer Choice Awards Winners in January 2025.

The No. 1 overall favorite for the fourth consecutive year was the Chili & Lime Flavored Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips. Runners-up included the Steamed Pork & Ginger Soup Dumplings, Butternut Squash Mac & Cheese, Kimbap and Vegetable Fried Rice.

Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice tops lunch and dinner options at Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's frozen section includes some popular items, especially the brand's Indian food.

Butter Chicken with Basmati Rice and Chicken Tikka Masala topped the list of customer favorites for lunch and dinner for the 16th Annual Customer Choice Awards.

Trader Joe's Brazil Nut Body Butter among fan favorites

Trader Joe's shoppers also voted on their favorite bath, body and home products. Brazil Nut Body Butter (a product with limited availability) topped that list.

"Our customers love to keep their skin in the pink with this mega-moisturizing, salted-caramel and pistachio-scented body cream," according to the business.

Trader Joe's Hall of Fame features Unexpected Cheddar Cheese, Mandarin Orange Chicken

Trader Joe's Product Hall of Fame includes items that are so popular they're no longer considered for the annual Customer Choice Awards.

"As the years have gone on, some products have so consistently won in their category (or even multiple categories) that we felt the time was right to take them out of contention, so that other products might get their turn in the spotlight," according to Trader Joe's.

Hall-of-famers include Mandarin Orange Chicken and Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups. Also on the list is Unexpected Cheddar, described as "a smooth, creamy cheddar that shares some saporous similarities with aged Parmesan."

A Trader Joe's superfan from Ormond Beach shares her favorites

Ormond Beach Trader Joe's super fan Jasmin Bedria started an online petition to bring a Trader Joe's to the Daytona Beach area in 2012. She spoke with The News-Journal in February and shared some of her favorite items.

Her go-to purchases include the "To the Power of Seven Green Organic Juice Blend;" "Mango Mini Mochi" sweet treats; "Mango & Sticky Rice Spring Rolls;" "Jalapeno Lime Almond Dip;" "Peruvian Potato Chips;" "Giant Peruvian Inca Corn;" gluten-free vegan "Plantain Croutons with Garlic and Sea Salt;" "Supreme Hydrating Eye Cream;" and a "Retinol Night Serum with Baobab Sea Oil."
