Celebs who designers didn't want to dress
When you're famous, having the right outfit to wear on the red carpet or a magazine cover is part of the job. Generally, celebs and their stylists borrow these outfits from designers, which is a win-win arrangement: the celebrity looks great in front of the camera, and the designer of the dress gets important publicity. However, not every celeb gets the same opportunities.
Oftentimes, designers refuse to lend someone their clothes because of that person's body size, race, or age. But some stars and their stylists have also been brave enough to call them out. Click on to see who they are, and what those stars have to say about it.
Beyoncé
When she received the CFDA Fashion Icon award in 2016 she said: "When we were starting out in Destiny’s Child, high-end labels, they didn’t want to dress black, country, curvy girls."
Jane Seymour
She also said, "I don’t care whether re-wearing clothes is acceptable or not, if I’m feeling the dress and the occasion, and if it fits, then I’ll wear it again."
Jennifer Hudson
She said, "The truth is, so many more opportunities open up when you’re on the other side, as I am now. I had no idea what I was missing out on. It’s like a whole other world."
Melissa McCarthy
She explained, "I asked five or six designers, very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people, and they all said no." In the end, she wore a department store, ready-to-wear gown by Marina Rinaldi.

The rapper told Teen Vogue, "I'm not going to turn down an opportunity because they don't want to let me in, or they just don't like me in their clothes, period."
Ashley Graham
In 2016, Graham told The Cut that she didn't attend the Met Gala because she couldn't find anyone to dress her. "I couldn't get a designer to dress me," she said. "You can't just show up in jeans and a T-shirt."
Zendaya
