A royal insider has revealed where Prince William’s ‘real resentment’ lies, just hours after King Charles appeared to ‘declare war’ on his younger son, Harry, and his wife, Meghan Markle. The Duke and Duchess are said to have a strained relationship with both the King and the Prince of Wales after they decided to step back from their senior royal duties and move to the States. VOICING GRIEVANCES WITH THE ROYALS

Prince Harry and former actress Meghan have openly spoken about their grievances with the Royal Family, including King Charles and Prince William, in interviews and documentaries. The most notable of them all was their sit-down chat with Oprah Winfrey, during which the couple made landmark claims about rifts and broken relationships within Buckingham Palace. Sources later told People that King Charles stopped taking Harry's calls after the book's release, while experts noted that Harry and Prince William were no longer speaking. GROWING PUBLIC PERCEPTION

Now, as relations between Prince Harry and Prince William are allegedly worse than they have ever been, a royal insider has revealed exactly where the future King of England’s ‘real resentment’ lies. They explained to RadarOnline that there is a public perception that ‘William has completely turned against Harry and wants nothing more to do with him’, but that isn’t exactly the case. SEE'S HARRY AS 'HIS LITTLE BROTHER'

The source told the outlet: ‘Deep down, William still sees Harry as his little brother and someone he once had an incredibly close bond with. 'THE DAMAGE IS TOO SERIOUS'

The insider continued: ‘He [William] thinks she encouraged the anger, the distance, and ultimately the decision to publicly air private grievances in a way the family never could have anticipated,’ adding that he would ‘probably’ try to reach out to his brother if he was certain that ‘influence’ and ‘distrust’ were not going to get in the way of his efforts. The source concluded: ‘But at this point, he feels the damage is too serious, so he's taken the attitude that all he can really do is step back and wait to see how things unfold. CREATING A FRESH PUBLIC IMAGE

Another royal source added that in the early days, there was immense excitement inside palace circles about the younger generation of Royal Family members working together, explaining that William and Catherine 'genuinely made an effort to bring Meghan in, support her, and make her feel part of the family operation’. 'FASTER THAN ANYONE EXPECTED'

The insider told RadarOnline: 'The atmosphere shifted far faster than anyone expected. Tensions started building once it became obvious Harry and Meghan were uncomfortable with many of the rules, structures, and expectations that come with royal life. William, in particular, struggled with the idea of rewriting traditions that he believes exist for a reason, while Harry and Meghan increasingly wanted to carve out a completely different way of operating. 'DECLARATION OF WAR'

At the same time, it appears that Prince Charles has made a very public move against his younger son, amid simmering tensions, in what has been branded a ‘declaration of war’. A report from Express.co.uk details how the Monarch removed a photo of Harry and Meghan on their wedding day from its original position at his Highgrove home. Royal Photographer Chris Jackson, who hosted an event at the estate, took a photo of the table where the wedding snap had been.

FREEZING PEOPLE OUT 'POLITELY'

Discussing the allegedly ‘declaration’, TalkTV host Samara Gill said: ‘'Look, I mean, removing a royal photo in royal life is sort of a declaration of war, I would say,’ adding that the royals tend to freeze people out ‘quite politely’. Remarking that the removal of the photo is 'subtle' yet 'brutal', Gill went on: 'I think now because of all the drama and chaos that they've been causing Charles, especially while he was battling with cancer, I think this is sort of endgame now.' HARRY REMAINS OPTIMISTIC

Meanwhile, an insider revealed to Closer in recent weeks that Harry appears optimistic about returning to the Royal Family on a part-time basis. However, Meghan is said to be reluctant to step away from the life and career she has built. 'FEELS HE'S VERY CLOSE'

The source added that the Duke 'feels he's very close to getting Charles to agree' and is 'tired' of flying back and forth between California and the UK.
