McDonald's Australia announces biggest menu change in 17 years
McDonald's Australia has announced its biggest menu change in 17 years, introducing five new menu items showcasing the latest flavour trends around the world.
It’s called the World Menu Heist. Not since the introduction of the McAngus range in 2009 have Macca’s lovers seen such an innovative lineup.
McDonald's Australia has hand-picked a lineup of iconic international McDonald's favourites and delivered them Down Under.
McDonald's Australia new menu items
Each of the five international menu icons come to our shores from Japan, Canada, and the US.
From May 27, McDonald's customers can get their hands a Teriyaki Chicken Burger or Garlic & Black Pepper McNuggets from Japan, a Benny-Style Bacon 'N Egg Bagel from Canada, and a Philly Cheese Stack from the US, as well as an incredible dipping sauce.
The Teriyaki Chicken Burger is made with a "100 per cent Aussie chicken breast fillet coated in a delicious, sweet and tangy teriyaki sauce, layered with crisp shredded lettuce and creamy mayonnaise, all tucked into a soft bun".
The Garlic & Black Pepper McNuggets are tender, juicy chicken pieces "in a crispy golden coating, seasoned with a bold blend of garlic and black pepper, delivering a savoury punch in every bite".
McDonald's Australia new menu items
The Benny-Style Bacon 'N Egg Bagel is made with "rasher bacon, egg, cheese and creamy hollandaise sauce, all served in a warm, lightly toasted bagel". This is a breakfast menu item and is only available until 11.30am.
The Philly Cheese Stack includes "two juicy beef patties stacked with grilled and crispy onions, layered with three cheese slices, finished with a rich cheese sauce and pickles, all inside a toasted bun" and is reportedly very 'cheesy'.
And the Special Edition GOLD Sauce is a "smooth, creamy blend of sweet, smoky, mustard and tomato". It is perfect for dipping Fries, McNuggets, and McWings.
Amanda Nakad, Marketing Director of Menu and Brand for McDonald's Australia, said: "For the first time, Menu Heist brings together some of the most loved menu items from around the world, giving Aussies the chance to try them right here at home.
"Each Menu Heist item has been carefully selected from menus across Japan, Canada, the UK and the US – known for their bold, distinctive flavours that have built cult followings globally.
It's a limited time range that celebrates big flavour, quality ingredients and the creativity fans love from Macca's around the world.
"These are flavours Aussies have been craving online for years, and now it's finally our turn."
These new menu items will be available in restaurants, via the drive-thru, through McDelivery and on the MyMacca's app.
