THE RUNDOWN
- Farmer Wants a Wife Australia has returned for its 2026 season with Farmers Zac, Alex, Jason, Jarrad and Dylan.
- The series featured a record 39 contestants, but already 14 women have been sent home.
- 5 women were chosen by each Farmer to take back to the farm.
- Before farm life kicks off, Farmers choose one woman to go on a 24-hour date.
Farmer Wants a Wife was back on our screens last night, and we can confirm that this year the lineup of farmers is as dashing as promised. In the first episode, Farmers Dylan, Alex and Jason served up flirting, banter and a few clangers as they got to know their ladies, all while deciding who would be eliminated.
The premise of the first episode of Farmer Wants a Wife is simple: the farmers spend some one-on-one time with the eight women they’ve been paired with. But while the contestants might be cosying up with their farmer, they shouldn’t get too settled. These fireside chats aim to eliminate three hopeful contestants, so the farmer ends up with five women to court, and we end up with a manageable amount of television to watch.
As such, the women don’t hold back on their dates, looking to get their farmers’ pulses racing to avoid elimination. We got the sense it wasn’t her first rodeo when Ally, 23, a chocolate shop server, blindfolded Farmer Dylan to hand-feed him a selection of chocolates and asked him to guess the flavours. Kiara, a private chef from NSW, got even more adventurous, hand-feeding him homemade tiramisu, a risky move at the best of times and more so on national television.

Nervous Farmer Alex, a self-proclaimed romantic, immediately charmed us with an Eminem reference as he went to meet his ladies (“knees weak, arms are heavy”). He then proved he had excellent attention to detail by consistently complimenting women on specific elements of their looks, from boots to dresses. We’ll be getting him to do our red carpet coverage next awards season. He also revealed he’s a fan of Twilight and considers Bella and Edward’s wedding the most romantic cinematic wedding of all time. The ELLE Australia team are divided on whether this is a green flag or a red.
Farmer Jason’s ladies were playing for keeps. Jessica came to their date prepared with a padlock engraved with both their initials, leading some viewers to question whether she was shooting her shot or auditioning for the lead role in Obsession. Jason shared that he plays netball as goal attack (this might help him dodge Jessica), while he and Beth seemed to hit it off, bonding over the challenges of dating with children. Beth also disclosed that she doesn’t really want children, which is awkward because Jason has two. Jason was clearly taken by Beth’s good looks and charm, so put this in the “something we can work through” pile.
One night, we were introduced to Miranda, the season’s villain, who arrived in a cherry red dress, told Zac she wanted children (but only with a blue-eyed man, you know, so they’ll have blue eyes) and got miffed when he didn’t choose her for his 24-hour date. While Zac was taken with her looks saying he was “Definitely punching above my weight” we have a feeling the apple farmer may have been too scared not to invite her back to the farm. Meanwhile, Farmer Jarrad’s quest for love involved a whole lot of chaos: there were chicken impersonations, balloon animals and a few sweet moments.
The fun and games had to end at some point, though, and each farmer had to narrow things down to five women to take back to the farm in the bizarre rural reality TV ritual that is Farmer Wants a Wife. So, who is still in the running to join the list of 22 Farmer Wants a Wife couples who are still together? If you’re wondering who was eliminated on Farmer Wants a Wife tonight, we have you covered.
Who Was Eliminated On Farmer Wants A Wife 2026?
Bene, Eliminated by Farmer Jason

Image: Seven Network
Bene had a rough night: she was eliminated by Farmer Jason despite her hilarious joke about pink cows producing strawberry milk (it was a great gag), and actually fainted when she heard the news. After recovering, she told Jason with characteristic good humour: “Got a bit hot there… I’ve never been rejected on tele before, oh my gosh, Jason, you made a girl faint!” She later spoke to TV Week, putting it down to the heat and adrenaline: “As soon as he picked the fifth girl and I realised that I wasn’t going back to the farm, I think the adrenaline took over and hit me like a freight train.” She said it was “embarrassing to say the least” but added: “I guess that’s what happens when you get rejected on national television!” A cautionary tale for us all.
Britt, Eliminated by Farmer Jason

Britt stepped in to support Bene when she fainted (she was, in fact, the one Bene grabbed on the way down), but being a girl’s girl wasn’t enough for Farmer Jason to bring her back to the farm. We farewell a kind queen.
Kiara, Eliminated by Farmer Dylan

Image: Seven Network
Despite her ingenious (homemade!) tiramisu plan, Kiara was eliminated. “I truly did enjoy spending my time with you three,” Dylan told her, Rhianna and Jamie. Kiara ultimately lost out in the feeding frenzy. Perhaps she should have tried chocolates.
Rhianna, Eliminated by Farmer Dylan

Image: Seven Network
In Rhianna’s speed date, she revealed that she’d “never been on a proper date before.” And, unfortunately, she’ll never be going on a proper date with Farmer Dylan again, as he didn’t select her for his final five.
Jamie, Eliminated by Farmer Dylan

Image: Seven Network
Dylan described Jamie as a “really genuine person”, but apparently, being nice doesn’t take you very far in the high-stakes world of rural romance. “I care deeply about making this decision right, because they’re all very special,” he reflected, before opting to end their short-lived dalliance.
Alicia, Eliminated by Farmer Alex

Image: Seven
Despite her on-point cow-print dress, a free dancing lesson and a fishing rod, Alicia was eliminated by Farmer Alex, who told the group he “would have taken you all back if I could.” It would be a much weirder show if he had, but sadly he didn’t. Perhaps Alicia should have worn a mushroom print.
Ebony, Eliminated by Farmer Alex

Image: Seven
Ebony and Alex bonded over shared orthodontic issues (Alex has an extra tooth) but despite this, Alex sent Ebony home, assuring her that “if it’s not here, you’re going to find it somewhere else.” A visibly emotional Ebony reflected in a post-elimination interview: “I am disappointed because I am genuine and I wanted to find a partner. You know, I’m a beautiful person and I’ve got a lot of love to give to someone and…” We have no doubt.
Samara, Eliminated by Farmer Alex

Image: Seven Network
Alex loved that Samara is an ecologist but her green thumb wasn’t enough to save her from elimination, and she got the same parting line as the others. Cold comfort when you’ve been pipped by an avowed mushroom hater.
Hannah, Eliminated by Farmer Jarrad

Image: Seven
In a bold strategic move, Pilates instructor Hannah decided that the ultimate icebreaker would be to perform a live chicken impersonation. It was certainly unforgettable, and while Farmer Jarrad didn’t go for the feathered gamble, she has provided our first FWAW 2026 meme. Hannah was sanguine about being sent home. “Farmer Jarrad made his choice and he’ll have to live with that for the rest of his life,” she quipped.
Kyiah, Eliminated by Farmer Jarrad

Image: Seven
Social worker Kyiah hoped her empathy and active listening would give her an edge, but ultimately, sparks did not fly between her and Farmer Jarraed, and she’ll be headed back to the city.
Kristy, Eliminated by Farmer Jarrad

Image: Seven
Yoga instructor Kristy’s attempts to ground Farmer Jarrad in the present moment were entirely derailed by the high-stakes panic of a 5 reality TV timer. While she admitted she was “trying to flirt a little” in the speed date, the chemistry didn’t flourish, and her search for love ended after the date.
Jess, Eliminated by Farmer Zac

Image: Seven
Jess arrived with a double-threat resume: she works for an NGO, and she’s a musician, meaning she spends her life trying to save the world while writing songs about it. Sadly, her attempts to strike a chord with Zac fell on deaf ears.
Holly, Eliminated by Farmer Zac

Image: Seven
As a teacher’s aide, Holly is used to wrangling chaotic rooms full of children, so you’d think managing a single country bloke would be a walk in the park. Unfortunately, their speed date got off on the wrong foot when it was revealed that they supported different football teams. Could Geelong supporter Zac ever fall for a North Melbourne girl? Apparently not.
Chelsea, Eliminated by Farmer Zac

Image: Seven
Chelsea put on a theatrical performance, giving Farmer Zac a glimpse into her life as a flight attendant by creating a mock airline experience. “Sit back, relax, and you’ll fall for more than the view,” she quipped. Sadly, it seems Zac doesn’t have the stomach for travel and prefers his feet on the ground. He sent her home after the speed date.
