Simone Biles’s New Custom-Built Home Has a Room Just for Her Dogs
Over the past five years, Simone Biles has shared updates from a Texas plot while the highly-customized manse she shares with husband Jonathan Owens took shape. Fans of the decorated gymnast have watched along in social media dispatches as Biles documented the lakefront house’s evolution from naked wall studs all the way up to the modern black-and-white stunner it is today—and now, it’s finally complete.
“Home building requires a lot of patience,” Biles shared in an Instagram story on Wednesday, wherein she updated her followers on the big news of the pad’s completion and outlined the entire journey. “Started the design process in 2020 and took a year to complete,” she wrote, adding that additional time was eaten up in securing the required HOA approvals after that. The duo finally broke ground in February 2022, and the dwelling was officially completed on Tuesday. “Proud of us,” Biles wrote, tagging Owens. “They lied when they said nine months to build,” she joked.
Read on for the details on the home’s standout features.
The black-and-white kitchen
On her Instagram story, Biles shared a photo of one of her French bulldogs standing on the kitchen’s blonde hardwood floors alongside the announcement that she had “keys in hand” and had “finally closed on [the] house.” Dramatic marble lines the countertops and backsplash, featuring bold black veining across the white stone. In a separate post, the gymnast shared pictures of herself and Owens perched on one of their two sprawling kitchen islands, feeding each other pizza slices. (Adorable!) “The house we built,” she captioned the photos. White cabinetry with square brass knobs, a breakfast bar, and modern geometric light fixtures round out the modern space (needless to say, there is also a high-end range with a pot-filler).
The laundry room
The black-and-white theme is carried throughout the abode, including in the laundry room, which sports walls lined with a zig-zagging abstract pattern in Biles’s favored color scheme—plus plenty of built-in storage space. Notably, the space comes equipped with not one, but two sets of washing machines and dryers. “Since Jonathan always wants to do laundry the EXACT same day as me, now [we have] one set for each of us,” she wrote.
The primary bathroom
Biles also shared an image of herself and Owens sitting on a marble-topped vanity in what appears to be their primary bathroom, which touts drawers-upon-drawers of storage space, dual sinks, a trio of oversized square mirrors, and a glass-walled shower lined with marble. An earlier image of the spa-like ensuite showed off a white soaking tub in the corner, below a large frosted window.
The dog room
“Dogs need their own room too,” Biles wrote, revealing a space devoted specifically to her pair of Frenchies, Lilo and Rambo, and Owens’s English bulldog, Zeus. The area is equipped with a doggie spa and a built-in spot for food and water bowls, all lined with the same rectangular black-and-white checkerboard tiles that the athletes used in their backyard swimming pool and spa.
Outdoor amenities
Of course, an estate for a pair of professional athletes needs a sports court. Biles and Owens’s home court boasts a textured checkerboard pattern. An in-ground trampoline gives the gymnast a spot to practice her flips with a lakefront view, while the aforementioned swimming pool and spa are outfitted with fountains.
