Fátima Bosch Is Miss Universe 2025 — And The Pageant’s Unexpected Feminist Force
THE RUNDOWN
- Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch has won the Miss Universe 2025 title.
- The 26-year-old faced off with Thailand’s Praveenar Singh, who has taken home the runner-up title.
- Fátima Bosch is a surprise winner; she was behind the mass walkout in the first week following a dispute with Miss Universe executive Nawat Itsaragrisil.
Miss Universe 2025 has officially crowned its winner — and it’s Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch. That’s right. The 26-year-old at the centre of the competition’s surprise feminist uprising has officially beaten out 100 contestants to take home the crown.
Bosch’s win came after a tense round with five other finalists from Thailand, the Philippines, Venezuela, and Côte d’Ivoire. Thailand’s Praveenar Singh has taken home the title of Runner-up, and Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark, the 73rd Miss Universe, was crowned the winner at the pageant finale.
If you’ve been following this year’s Miss Universe pageant, you’ll know the crowning moment is only the beginning of the story. What was once a retro, bikini-and-evening-gown fixture has become a reality-TV-level event of the year. From a mass contestant walkout sparked by a disagreement between a host and Miss Mexico, to the extraordinary resignation of judges days before the finale amid allegations of corruption, Miss Universe has unexpectedly transformed into 2025’s most addictive international spectacle.

As they waited for the winner to be announced, Fatima Bosch and Praveenar Singh waited hand-in-hand. Bosch, who has been one of the boldest voices in what has been an overwhelming pageant, looked taken aback. Not only had Bosch come to blows with former executive Nawat Itsaragrisil, but she also suffered an injury just before the finale.
As reported by Hola! Bosch shared on social media that she had stepped on a piece of glass in her hotel. “Because it hurts so much, I’m pretty sure there’s a tiny piece still inside, and it’s a bit bruised. It’s nothing major, but it definitely hurts,” she said. Despite this, Bosch completed her final competitions with aplomb and took home the title.

Everything You Should Know About Fátima Bosch
Fatima Bosch was born on May 19, 2000, making her 26 years old and a Taurus.
Fatima has a degree in Fashion & Apparel Design from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico. She has also completed additional studies at the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan and the Lyndon Institute in Vermont, USA.
According to Hola! Bosch is passionate about sustainable fashion, and her designs incorporate discarded materials.
Bosh has shared that she struggled with ADHD and dyslexia during her school years and has been using her position as Miss Universe Mexico, and now Miss Universe, to advocate for the neurodivergent. But her altruistic activities don’t end there. Bosch has spent over nine years volunteering with children facing cancer, organising an annual Christmas toy drive at the Oncology Hospital of Tabasco.
Earlier this month, Miss Mexico 2025, Fátima Bosch, found herself at the centre of global headlines after a Facebook livestream captured pageant director Nawat Itsaragrisil publicly berating her.
During what was meant to be a behind-the-scenes sashing ceremony, she was singled out for allegedly refusing to post sponsored content. When Bosch attempted to defend herself, he spoke over her, belittled her national director (“ If you follow the orders from your national director, you are a dumb,” Itsaragrisil said, per The Independent) and threatened removal from the competition — all on a stream that remained very much live.
“I would like to make it clear my great indignation toward Nawat for the public aggression he committed against Fátima Bosch, whom he humiliated, insulted, and he showed a lack of respect, in addition to the serious abuse of having called security to intimidate a defenceless woman, trying to silence and exclude her,” he wrote. Bosch, meanwhile, made her displeasure clear on Instagram.
“We’re in the 21st century, and I’m not a doll to be made up, styled, and have my clothes changed,” she said in a video posted to Instagram. “I came here to be a voice for all the women and all the girls who fight for causes and to tell my country that I’m completely committed to that.”
Spoken like a true queen.
