The biggest food holiday of the year is approaching fast. And while it's a big day for home cooks, it's a big day for dining out.
If you’re not in the mood to cook, leave the cooking to someone else. Across metro Detroit, restaurants are offering complete traditional holiday meals or those with a different or unique twist. In downtown Detroit, many places are open for Detroit's Thanksgiving Day Parade and the annual Detroit Lions Thanksgiving Day game.
You can choose to make reservations and dine in, or many places offer fully cooked or oven-ready meals to go.
What's offered?
You will find everything from the traditional roast turkey with all the classic sides of mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberry relish, green bean casserole and desserts. There are also twists on turkey flavors, other special meals or items from the regular menu.
Ordering and reservations
If you plan on dining out for Thanksgiving, make reservations now. Most places require reservations or pre-orders. If you plan on ordering to-go, most places will have a cutoff date and specific days and times for pickup on or before Thanksgiving Day.Check out our list, which is by no means comprehensive, of metro Detroit restaurant offerings. Most prices listed do not include beverages, tax and gratuity.
