Partake Kitchen opens in new space in Medina

It's a larger space from the original.

MEDINA, Ohio – “People who love to eat are always the best people.”

That Julia Child quote is scrawled in large letters on the wall of ParTake Kitchen, which has just opened its expanded space on Blake Avenue in Medina.

Owners Laura Kanieski and Jamme Powers have opened the homey market, store and catering company. Kanieski opened the original location at 236 N. State Road on Sept. 20, 2019.

Charcuterie and cheeses are offered.

“She has such a huge following, she outgrew that space,” said Kimberly Marshall, economic development director for Medina, at a recent ribbon cutting. Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell read a proclamation.

The location, previously a bakery, is 2,800 square feet compared to 800 for the original, Powers said.

Kanieski called the process of opening the larger space a “long journey.”

It offers gift items for the foodie.

“It was definitely worth it, as all good things are worth it,” she said. “It just takes a while. Nothing good comes easy.”

And one of the good things about ParTake is its online ordering, which Powers calls the “bread and butter” of the business.

Menus come out on Wednesday for Monday and Wednesday pickup the following week. It’s a prepaid, drive-through and grab it system, he said.

“We are one of the only restaurants in Greater Medina that offer autoimmune protocol meals” for those with dietary restrictions or allergy concerns, he added. When considering allergens, they avoid cross-contamination in meal preparation. (An autoimmune protocol diet is one that tries to exclude foods that might trigger immune responses, leading to inflammation and other issues.)

At ParTake, you can grab a cup of coffee and peruse gift items.

ParTake’s Christmas menu features beef Wellington, citrus glazed ham, baked rigatoni, eggnog French toast casserole and a quiche with roasted red pepper, spinach and goat cheese.

The catering menu includes full breakfast items, taco bar, slider bar, soup and salad bar, boxed lunches and build-your-own barbecue. Plus the entrée selections are extensive, with three dozen offerings.

French bread loaves are stacked vertically. Specialized items are offered, including jalapeno-stuffed olives, hot honey, wassail cider spices and ginger-molasses cookies.

Cheese and charcuterie selections include everything from lamb salami to white cheddar. Aprons saying “Look what I didn’t make! I just ParTake” and gift napkins also are available to round out dinner-party accoutrements.

ParTake Kitchen is on Blake Avenue in Medina, not far from the city's square.

“I just can’t wait to see where the future takes us,” Kanieski said.
