Iconic bakery Arsicault opening first location outside of San Francisco
Arsicault Bakery is opening this fall in Palo Alto, a spokesperson for the business said in an email to KRON4. It will be located at 388 Cambridge Ave., near the conglomerate of businesses on California Avenue.
The bakery is planning to open by the end of October this year, according to the spokesperson. This Arsicault will span approximately 2,400 square feet with dedicated outdoor patio seating.
Arsicault’s decision to open its first outpost in Palo Alto traces back to founder and CEO Armando Lacayo’s roots. Palo Alto is a “sentimental” place for Lacayo.
Palo Alto is a sentimental place for me, as it’s where I lived after first moving to California while still working in finance. We’re excited to bring Arsicault’s signature pastries to a prime location at 388 Cambridge in the heart of Silicon Valley

The news of the Palo Alto opening comes after KRON4 reported in October Arsicault’s plans to open a fourth San Francisco location.
Arsicault is known for its signature chocolate almond croissant, with food influencers regarding it as the best the Bay Area has to offer.
“A LINE IN SF WORTH WAITING IN!!!” one influencer writes.
Arsicault opened in 2015 and was named the best new bakery in the U.S. by Bon Appétit Magazine. The bakery has built a fanbase as it has more than 45,000 followers on Instagram — garnering the attention of local celebrities like Warriors player-turned-broadcaster Festus Ezeli.
The original Arguello location is known to frequently have long lines, especially on weekend mornings. If you drive in the neighborhood during that time, chances are you’ll see a crowd waiting in front of a green awning.
