Many royals wear the same outfit more than once, so it doesn't come as a surprise that hand-me-downs are somewhat of a tradition. Who can forget the Duchess of Cambridge wearing Princess Diana's ring? Or Prince Louis wearing the same outfit his dad wore to the very same event over 30 years ago?

Diana's emerald and diamond choker
As the new Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton honored the former woman to hold that title, her late mother-in-law Diana, at the 2022 Earthshot Prize awards on December 2 by donning more of her favorite jewelry. Middleton showcased her sustainable style in a rented green dress and accessorized with Princess Diana's emerald and diamond choker, which had actually been loaned to Diana by Queen Elizabeth II, CNN reports. The vibrant green dress Middleton wore in Boston was a Solace London gown reportedly rented from online platform HURR for just £74 (US$90).
Shirt and shorts
His uncle's, Prince Harry! Here he is, wearing the same outfit, also during the Trooping the Colour parade. Although this one was in 1986.
Mary Jane shoes
It's not just Prince Louis who wears his uncle's outfits. Princess Charlotte was also spotted wearing Prince Harry's red Mary Jane shoes.
Engagement ring
The engagement ring Prince William gave to Kate Middleton belonged to his mother. The ring was chosen by Diana herself from a Garrard's catalog.
