Princess Margaret wore this fairy-tale gown in 1949. Paired with the necklace, she looked like a Hollywood star.
Queen Elizabeth II
For her coronation ceremony in 1953, the Queen wore a gown designed by Norman Hartnell. The elaborate dress was made of white duchess satin and florals embroidered with gold and silver thread, representing the commonwealth countries.
While visiting Tanzania in 1956, the Princess wore an elegant dress with a big ribbon detail on it. She looked like a true modern '50s royal.
