Man finds free dog treats on park bench—tears at attached note

What started as an ordinary walk through the park unexpectedly turned emotional for one man after he came across a small container of dog treats and a handwritten note perched on a bench.

Taylor Harrison was strolling through his local park in England, as he often does, when he stopped in his tracks after spotting something unusual on the bench. Curious, he stepped closer and realized that grieving pet parents left behind a note and a box of doggy treats in honor of their chocolate Labrador named Fudge.

The park had been the pup’s favorite place, the note explained, and the family hoped sharing her treats with other dogs would keep her memory alive. They included a picture of their beloved fur baby, saying she “ran through the puddles to the rainbow bridge.”

Harrison snapped photos of the kind gesture and shared them to his TikTok account @taylorharrison__, with the caption: “Sobbed when i saw this.” He told Newsweek via email that he was deeply moved by the owners’ decision to let other dogs enjoy what had once brought joy to theirs.

Harrison originally came across the note in early 2025, but he posted the photos in a TikTok video on December 30, explaining how he still thinks about it to this day. The clip quickly resonated with viewers, amassing nearly 3 million views and more than 457,000 likes. After his video went viral, the dog’s owners reached out to him privately.

“The owners of the note and box contacted me after the post was made, telling me how good they felt knowing that their dog had been seen by so many people,” he said. “They said she loved meeting new people, so the fact that 2.9 million had seen her online made them really happy!”

Fudge’s owners told him she passed “due to old age.” However, she would have loved to meet everyone who watched the video.

Viewer Reactions

TikTok viewers flooded the comments with support, many saying the tribute showed just how deeply Fudge had been loved—and how much she clearly meant to her family—but the gesture still broke hearts.

“It actually makes me sick to think about the fact that those were probably the rest of Fudge’s treats, and the owner didn’t know what to do with them,” one viewer pointed out.

“Hoping Fudge is indulging in unlimited treats over the rainbow,” commented another.
