 Now Kylie has made Bentley dog treats before; the ones she loved the taste of the most were these -> Pumpkin Dog Treats. Isabella is more of a peanut butter girl then, so she took to Pinterest to piece together what she wanted to try out.

  • Peanut Butter– I used creamy peanut butter, be sure your peanut butter doesn’t have Xylito.
  • Coconut Oil 
  • Cinnamon 

HOW TO MAKE FROZEN COCONUT OIL DOG TREATS:

Now I must say these are so easy that a ten-year-old did everything but pour into the molds. She was very proud that she made these with hardly any help from her mom.  

Optional step spray your molds or wipe them down with a smidge of oil to ensure your treats pop out. 

Take a small saucepan and put your burner on low heat. 

Measure out the coconut oil and place it into the pan.

Melting coconut Oil In Sauce Pan

While stirring, allow the coconut oil to melt; this did cause me to have a great conversation with Isabella about different melting points.  We kept the heat low so it would melt slowly and we wouldn’t burn it.

Melted Coconut Oil With peanut butter and cinnamon in sauce pan

Next, when the coconut oil is melted, mix the peanut butter and cinnamon into the melted coconut oil. 

Stir until all the peanut butter and cinnamon has dissolved into the coconut oil.

This is where we messed up; please put a tray or something under the molds before pouring in the treat filing. 

We did not do this, and as you can see, when I lifted the molds to go onto a sheet, they spilled. I did have a small cutting board I could slide under some of the molds.  We used these molds on Amazon, and they were perfect!

Pouring Healthy Homemade Coconut Oil Peanut Butter Dog Treats into molds

Pour the mixture into your molds after you have placed them on a tray.

Once your molds are filled, place them in the freezer for at least two hours until frozen.

Pop out of the molds and store them in an airtight container in the fridge.

The molds came in different sizes and treat shapes; the larger ones he does seem to break in half and drop on the floor, so we will fill all the smaller ones first next time.

HOW TO STORE 3 INGREDIENT DOG TREATS

Store in the fridge in an airtight container for up to one week. You can store it in the freezer for up to three months in an airtight container.

Storing leftovers properly requires the right tools! My preferred storage method is if the leftovers can be sealed in a food saver. If not, then an air-tight container or Ziploc bag for the fridge is the way I go. The air-tight container and a freezer Ziploc bag are the next best bet for freezing the leftovers. I also use a food scale to often measure leftovers into serving sizes.
