PARMA, Ohio — A neighborhood favorite known for interesting comfort food and a welcoming atmosphere, Ale Mary’s blends pub fare with a strong craft beer selection. Its first-place finish in Cleveland.com / The Plain Dealer “Best Places to eat in Parma/Parma Heights” reflects both its loyal customer base and its reputation as a go-to gathering spot.
Ale Mary’s is at 6855 Ridge Road, Parma. Until January 2025, the space was occupied by another bar, Bleachers. One year ago, owners Erin and Tom Sabol and chef/owner Jeff Lipinski took over and began updating the interior and enhancing the sports vibes.

The group had owned third-place winner Pounders from 2004 to 2021. After a few years out of the business, the new opportunity presented itself and they got back in.

“We love the business, we know the area and we’re good at it,” said Erin.
Tom added, “We like creating a place we want to go to.”
In the year since they bought the neighborhood bar, the Sabols and Lipinski have updated the interior. They kept the bar and pool tables. They also have a bowling machine, dart boards and televisions for sports viewing.
For the menu, Tom said, “We wanted a really fun menu, a little bit above your standard bar food.”
For example, they added hot honey pepperoni and cheese wontons. The wonton shells are stuffed with pepperoni, mozzarella and banana peppers, then drizzled with hot honey sauce. They’re served with marinara for dipping.
Among the most popular is Tom’s favorite, Not in My Waffle House. The “bun” is a sweet Liège waffle. It comes with fried chicken topped with cheddar, pickles and bacon jam. It’s served with a side of maple syrup for dipping or drizzling.
