Kate Middleton style: What message did the princess send with this look?

The style bible described Princess Catherine as an “eternal influencer” and “culture-shaper” whose “quiet support can change the trajectory of a brand”.
And “the Kate Effect”, which is the phenomena of everything she wears quickly selling out, shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.

When it comes to what she is wearing, Kate is the one who is firmly in control of her look.
Princess Catherine was previously assisted by Natasha Archer, who stepped down as Kate’s senior private executive assistant in 2025 after 15 years of service. The royal aide has not been replaced.
But while Natasha was in charge of sourcing clothing and wardrobe maintenance, it is believed that Kate always decided what she wore.
Favouring dresses from High Street labels like Zara in her early years as a royal gave a touch of relatability to Kate. Following her cancer treatment, there has been an evolution of her style, with the princess preferring a uniform of tailored suits for work.
“The style is there, but it’s about the substance,” a Kensington Palace staffer told The British Times of the change as royal watchers were urged to focus on her work.
But that doesn’t stop the princess pulling out all the stops when required, with another source telling the paper that Kate totally gets the “crowns and gowns” element of the job.
