Elizabeth Banks is shocked not all 'white ladies' align with her views — probably because they live in real America
Elizabeth Banks is very disappointed in white women — at least the ones who don’t vote the way she thinks they should.
“I don’t understand the 53% of white ladies that didn’t vote for Kamala,” she told a Bustle podcast. “What were you thinking?”
And I don’t understand how in 2026, a rich Hollywood liberal lady is still doing the identity politics nonsense — the very thing that pushed normies to vote for Republicans in droves.

Don’t these people have anyone in their lives to tell them how condescending they sound?
Banks’ narrowminded point of view demands we women are ruled by our private parts, not our minds.
It pushes the idea that we are bound to one political party by our immutable characteristics. In Banks’ mind, we are nothing more than boxes we check on a doctor’s form.
How highly the actress, director and producer regards her fellow women.

But the funniest bit of the story is that Banks — who campaigned hard for both Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris — believes she’s part of the righteous-but-downtrodden class of people striving to rise up, break their chains and do good for humankind.
She is yearning to taste freedom from the patriarchy.
“Effie is the model, guys,” she said invoking Effie Trinket, her “Hunger Games” character who is part of the elite ruling class in the dystopian movie franchise. Eventually the flamboyant Trinket has an epiphany and joins the oppressed in a bid to fight fascism.
“I think in ‘Catching Fire’ when she’s like, ‘I want to be part of this team,’ and you really see her struggling and then by the end she’s like a revolutionary … I wish more of us were becoming revolutionaries!” said Banks.
Well, if Banks wants to break free from her multi-million-dollar Los Angeles home, great wealth, blockbuster productions and Hollywood Reporter Power Women list, go for it.

But sister, you are ruling class.
Banks is ensconced in the elite structures and institutions that dictate social norms and policy. She is the authoritarian reprimanding women who do not hold the approved set of views.
Hey, when you make movies for a living, reality is of your own making.
In the 2024 election, revolutionaries were rising up against her ilk. As a reminder, Banks’ chosen candidate, Harris, became the nominee without a primary. She was shoved down everyone’s throat without a choice.
And a vote for Trump, whether you like him or not, was for something other than business as usual. Many ladies who went for the real-estate-mogul-turned-politician were rejecting the insulting notion pushed by people like Banks that we blindly support women simply because they are women.

That includes females like Harris who couldn’t articulate a single position or policy other than “abortion good.”
It’s a love they share. In fact, Banks appeared with Harris at her Reproductive Freedom Bus in Las Vegas, to campaign for abortion access.
It’s insulting to distill women voters down to simple creatures kept happy with the promise of unlimited baby-killing procedures.
But many on the left haven’t figured it out because they aren’t honest with themselves. When most teams lose, they take stock of their weaknesses and strengths. They try to shore up their fragile spots.

However, the left can’t seem to change course. Instead of engaging and understanding women, they lecture and hector them for making the wrong decision. Heck, some claim to not even know what one is.
Perhaps Banks should realize every time she intervenes or opens her mouth about politics, a new Republican is born.
She was the one responsible for the infamous celebrity filled “Fight Song” video to accompany Clinton’s failed 2016 bid for the presidency. It put an embarrassing cap on the campaign when the patron saint of pantsuits lost.
The lingering cringe from it is only rivaled by the Hollywood COVID video of celebrities warbling John Lennon’s “Imagine.”

Let’s face it, the imperious Banks is admitting she doesn’t know anyone outside of her neat little bubble of entertainment industry pals.
Or if she does, she was never curious enough to ask anyone what they really think about politics.
Although, why would they actually be frank with someone who shows such dripping disdain for anyone who disagrees with them?
