I’ve tried nearly every product at Sephora, here’s what I’d buy in the sale
Calling it like it is: I know the headline sounds a bit ridiculous—how could anyone possibly have tried nearly every product at Sephora? But I’ll admit it (with a hint of embarrassment): it’s absolutely true.
Do I feel proud of this? Not especially. As a reformed beauty maximalist, it’s not the badge of honour it once might have been. Is it useful when it comes to making product recommendations? Hugely.
For context, a good portion of my career was spent as a beauty writer and editor, which is a polite way of saying I was constantly smearing, swatching, and scrutinising every new product—including those that landed on Sephora’s shelves. I was there when the retailer first launched in Australia, have interviewed countless brand founders and celebrity makeup artists for the best insider intel, and even went behind the scenes for Fenty Beauty’s Australian debut (including that now-iconic party with Rihanna herself as the ultimate VIP).
Later, I worked in-house at Sephora within their content division, which only deepened my exposure to every brand on their roster. So when I say there are very few products or brands I haven’t tried, I’m not being hyperbolic—it’s more occupational hazard.

The sale officially starts Tuesday April 14 at 10pm. Gold Beauty Pass Members will have early access to the sale from Monday April 13 at 10pm, with the sale running unil Sunday, April 19.
Besides the aforementioned Sephora Beauty Frenzy sale that’s on now, there’s the Black Friday sale, which is held the last weekend of November every year. Plus, there’s holiday sales over the Christmas and Boxing Day period, the mid year sale and After Pay day in the months of July and August, and the annual Sephora Beauty Bass sale in September too.
