“Avatar: The Last Airbender” stars weigh in on Aang vs. Korra fan debate: 'It's all the same person' (exclusive)

The cast members also sidestep questions about whether they'll return in the sequel series "Avatar: Seven Havens."

Avatar Aang or Avatar Korra? Who's the better Avatar?

Since the launch of Nickelodeon's The Legend of Korra, the sequel series to Avatar: The Last Airbender, fans of the kid-friendly animated franchise have debated who's the more powerful Avatar — the reincarnated being capable of commanding all four natural elements (earth, air, fire, and water) in this fantasy world.

"Let's settle it right now!" Dee Bradley Baker, the voice of Appa, declares during an interview at Entertainment Weekly's Comic-Con video studio with his costars on Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.

"It's all the same person reincarnated over and over again," Dante Basco, the voice of Zukko, rightfully points out. "So there's no really wrong answer."

"Korra has Aang as a part of her, but Aang doesn't have Korra yet," Zach Tyler Eisen, the voice of Aang, comments.

What does Janet Varney, the voice of Korra herself, think about all this? "Korra would never turn on Aang," she says.

"I don't think Aang would want to fight Korra," Tyler Eisen agrees.

"She would be like, 'Help me! Help me!… I gotta get it together. Help me, Aang!'" Varney adds.

The one thing they can all agree on is, "Kyoshi would take us all out," Varney says.

Jack De Sena (Sokka), Michaela Jill Murphy (Toph), and Jennie Kwan (Suki) also joined EW at Comic-Con to reminisce about the show. Their presence coincides with the first-look reveal of Avatar: Seven Havens, the next sequel to follow Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.

Since that show will follow the next incarnation of the Avatar directly after Korra, will Varney make a return appearance? Will any of these veterans return in some capacity for Seven Havens? As Basco points out, he voiced Zuko on Avatar: The Last Airbender before voicing Zuko's grandson on The Legend of Korra, "so you never know. A lot of voice actors from the first series got to be in the second series… People can pop up anywhere."

"We're just really excited to be celebrating the original Avatar series. And so we're just trying to be in the moment," Kwan replies. "We actually just saw the first animated picture of the new series, so that was really exciting… If the call comes, great. And if not, we're here to support it."
