Beyoncé posing with her family was the best moment of the Met Gala red carpet
Tonight, the musical superstar and pop culture icon is serving as one of the celebrity co-chairs, her first time filling the esteemed role, after acting as an honorary chair back in 2013.

Beyoncé arrives to the 2026 Met Gala red carpet.
This year, the theme for the coinciding Met exhibition is “Costume Art,” with the presentation dedicated to “the inherent relationship between clothing and the body.” Never one to dress down, Beyoncé embraced the theme (and the dress code, which is “Fashion Is Art”) by arriving in a sparkling silver ensemble, designed by Olivier Rousteing, that resembled a skeleton.

She paired the see-through design with a matching crownlike headpiece while draping her body in an ombré feather cape that cascaded down the stairs behind her.

All eyes were certainly on the “Texas Hold ’Em” singer as she made her long-awaited return to the Met Gala, and for the special moment, she was joined by her husband, Jay-Z, and their eldest daughter, Blue Ivy. For his part, Jay wore a black tuxedo, while Blue Ivy wore a cream bubble dress, with a matching coat and silver heels to round things out.

Beyoncé has not attended the Met Gala since 2016, when she wore Givenchy Haute Couture.
From 2012 to 2016, Beyoncé attended the Met Gala every year, wearing Givenchy Haute Couture for each occasion. Before taking a break from the fashion event, her last look was a nude latex dress embellished with pearls and a subtle floral print.

The first time Beyoncé attended the Met Gala was in 2008, when she wore Armani Privé.
Prior to that, the Grammy winner had attended the fashion fundraiser only a couple of times: first in 2008, wearing a strapless blush Armani Privé dress, and then again in 2011, in a black Emilio Pucci mermaid gown adorned with intricate gold embroidery.
Suffice it to say, she’s been sorely missed.
