Oscars 2026

The Oscars concluded a tense race to the finish line of awards season, but they went out on a sartorial high, as only the A-list can.
The Academy Award for Best Dresses had to go to Chanel’s Matthieu Blazy, who dressed Jessie Buckley – stunning in a red and pink custom gown – as well as Nicole Kidman, Teyana Taylor, Gracie Abrams, to name but a few.
Anne Hathaway, who presented the award for Best Costume Design with Anna Wintour, proved that florals for spring are still a thing, courtesy of Valentino. Emma Stone and Renate Reinsve were both minimal in Louis Vuitton, while Givenchy’s Sarah Burton created a princess-worthy gown for Elle Fanning, and an all-white suit for Timothée Chalamet.
And then there were the after-parties, which required a swift outfit change, naturally, and a whole new tranche of celebrity and society names to share in the congratulations and commiserations.
