Denver weather: Pinpoint Weather Alert Day Sunday night for slick travel
DENVER (KDVR) — A Pinpoint Weather Alert Day has been issued Sunday night as snowfall moves from the mountains back into Denver’s weather forecast, leading to slick travel conditions through Monday morning.
A winter weather advisory has also been issued for the high country through Monday. During this time, there will be areas of 3-8 inches of snowfall alongside 30-40 mph wind gusts.
Denver weather tonight: Snow showers, cold
Snow showers will push from the mountains toward the Front Range and Eastern Plains Sunday night. The Denver metro, alongside most of the Front Range, will only pick up less than an inch of snowfall, while areas in the mountains accumulate several inches.
Low temperatures will fall to the teens and single digits, making it easy for snowfall to stick to the roads and lead to a slick overnight and morning drive.
Denver weather tomorrow: Sunny, chilly
Snow showers will wrap up before sunrise in the Denver metro, but light showers will linger in higher elevations Monday morning.
By Monday afternoon, sunshine will return. Despite the sunny sky, high temperatures will only reach the mid to upper 30s, which is about 10 degrees colder than normal for this time of year.
Looking ahead: Mild Tuesday, midweek snow
Tuesday, clouds will increase alongside much more seasonal temperatures, climbing to the mid-40s.
Then, another system will move in on Wednesday, bringing in the chance for another round of snow and much colder temperatures.
Then, sunshine returns Thursday into next weekend. High temperatures will be chilly on Thursday, only reaching the upper 30s, then jump to seasonal levels in the mid-40s by the weekend.
