Winter Storm Warning

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for our entire region ahead of the system for Saturday morning through Sunday night. The warning begins at 10 a.m. Saturday.

Friday, the bottom drops out, as temperatures fall all day long. It was down to the teens by the afternoon and single digits for the evening, with wind chills below zero.

This set the arctic stage for our weekend winter storm Saturday into Sunday:

Snowfall likelihood

At the moment, our totals will be around 8-12" of snow.

The snow will start to fly sometime early to mid-afternoon Saturday, between around 2-6 p.m. At first, it'll be fairly light in our area, maybe an inch by sunset. Snow will pick up a bit in the evening hours and will continue to intensify overnight.

We are looking at the possibility for a brief period of sleet Sunday, followed by additional snow that continues through the rest of the day. Snow doesn't end until Sunday night.

What we still don't know

While we are a day closer, the track is still not certain on if we see sleet or not. Sleet could reduce the snow totals in the Cincinnati area, though big impacts will still be felt.

Impacts

  • This storm will have major travel impacts
  • This will be a heavy snowfall, so keep that in mind for clean up.
  • Roads are likely to be most hazardous Sunday and Monday.

Cold Follows

Dangerously cold temperatures are around Friday-Tuesday. Whatever snow we do get, sticks around for a while. Wind chills will be as low as -10° to 10° starting Friday and continue through at least Tuesday, possibly longer.
