8 Reasons Why Indonesian Love Living in Malaysia

Even though I'm not Malaysian, I want to contribute to the #SayaAnakMalaysia hashtag. As an Indonesian who has lived in Malaysia for nearly 4 years, I have a unique perspective on life in this country. I can consider that Malaysia is an ideal place to live. Some of the aspects I love about living in Malaysia include:

    🇲🇾 Cultural Diversity

Chinese, Indian, and Malay are living here together in peace, allowing me to learn and appreciate various cultures. I've had Chinese and Indian housemates and we respected each other's backgrounds.

    🇲🇾 Friendly People

Malaysians are quick to lend a helping hand to those in need. Even Indonesians who have been in Malaysia for a long time and are married to Malaysians enthusiastically share their stories.

    🇲🇾 Motorbikes are Rare

Unlike Indonesia, where motorbike riders are ubiquitous and can lead to challenging traffic situations, Malaysia has fewer motorcycles on the road. Even for online transportation, cars are the primary choice, and I often see delivery brothers using motorbikes.

    🇲🇾 Impressive Infrastructure

Malaysia's Infrastructure Development is so amazing and it's comparable to first-world standards. From roads, expressways, and flyovers to mono rails, light rail transportation, and airports, the country has invested significantly. While some places may require Grab services, public transportation is comfortable and comprehensive.

    🇲🇾 Adherence to Traffic Rules

In my experience, driving in Malaysia is more comfortable due to the population's respect for traffic rules. People understand their priorities, leading to a smoother traffic flow.

    🇲🇾 Minimal Horn Usage

The respect for traffic rules results in less horn usage. If you hear horns in Malaysia, it means they have made a terrible mistake.

    🇲🇾 Abundance of Delightful Cuisine

This is definitely one of the reason everyone loves living in Malaysia, the food is so varied. As an Indonesian who is very familiar with spices, Malaysian cuisine suits my taste buds, the spices they use are so rich. In addition, there are many snacks that I cannot find in Indonesia. I can say, it's very difficult to diet here. Luckily, I still walk here often

    🇲🇾 Organized Environment

Everything has rules and they live by them. Like a simple case when I get on the train, the rule is giving priority to those exiting before entering, Malaysians follow this practice, which isn't as common in my home country. This is why I feel comfortable living in accordance with these rules.

I believe there's much more to appreciate about Malaysia, not only these 8. Wishing Malaysia a joyful 66th Independence Day🇲🇾🇲🇾. May the country continue to offer a pleasant living experience.
