Simone Ashley wears draped chain-link Stella McCartney gown to her third Met Gala
Third time’s the charm for Simone Ashley at the Met Gala. The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Bridgerton star arrived in a draped chain gown from Stella McCartney. Per the brand, “the dress is constructed from 70% repurposed Falabella chains and threads sourced from the Stella McCartney London atelier.” She accessorized with dangling diamond earrings and diamond bracelets from De Beers, along with silver platform Stuart Weitzman heels.

A closer look at Ashley’s glam.
In the Devil Wears Prada 2, Ashley’s character Amari attends the Met Gala with Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep). Amari wears archival Jean Paul Gaultier couture from the Autumn/Winter 2010 collection for the fictional event. Streep, who plays Priestly, did not attend the Met Gala tonight, but Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci all did.

As mentioned, it is just Ashley’s third time attending the Met Gala; in 2024, she wore Prabal Gurung for the “Garden of Time” themed night, and in 2022, she made her debut in Moschino.
“Clothes were about practicality above everything else for me,” she said earlier this year of her younger self. “I loved hiking in California with my cousins, going to the beach, or running around the garden in England with my brother. I was never a fashionista—I probably expressed creativity more through music and putting on performances for my family.”
But, the actress (and singer) added, she’s getting more confident in the fashion world. “The older I get, the more confident I feel,” she said. “I’m loving a ’90s vibe at the moment—it makes me feel so chic.”
